I. Event Introduction

Daren Life Association is a registered charity organization in New Zealand. Over the years, we have organized various activities such as Daren Life Mutual Help, social mutual assistance, and cultural exchanges in various communities, which have gain increasing acceptance and affection by the public. “Daren Culture” advocates and practices a culture of “putting humans first”. We hope that people can all be honored, supported, and assisted throughout their lives, making life happier, more brilliant, and fulfilling. Responding to the needs of various sectors and further enriching our lives, we have organized large-scale “Daren Culture” events to allow more people to experience the wonder of “Daren Culture.”

In 2023, we held the inaugural “Daren Culture” event at Mount Eden War Memorial Hall, which accommodated diverse exhibitions and was well-received by the public. This year, we will expand the scale and hold a larger “Daren Culture” event at Barfoot & Thompson Stadium (203 Kohimarama Road, Kohimarama, Auckland 1071) on 27 April, 2024 (Saturday) from 10 AM to 4 PM.

II. Guidelines to Stalls

Stall hirers: Interested businesses, organizations, and individuals are welcome to apply.

Stall Types: You can apply to showcase anything you are good at or what people need in social life.

Application Deadline: Applications are open until 30 March, 2024.

Stalls are limited. If applications exceed capacity, the organizers will select based on the circumstances of this event. If you are unable to participate after registering, you will be given priority in subsequent association activities. All services are for humanity. Exhibitors must support the event positively and must not engage in words or actions that harm or infringe upon people’s physical and mental rights.

III. Volunteer Recruitment

For the 2024 “Daren Culture” event, volunteers are now recruited to assist in on-site layout, stall assistance, and maintaining order during the event. Volunteers will receive a certificate upon completion of the event.

Requirements for Volunteers: Ages 14 and above, regardless of gender, with a friendly and enthusiastic demeanor.

On February 24, 2024, which coincided with the Lantern Festival on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, the Daren Singing Event proceeded as scheduled. Friends from different regions gathered together, getting to know each other through songs, making friends through songs, singing out the cycle of years, and expressing their love for life.

Initially shy friends found resonance through the songs, opening the windows of their souls and gradually becoming more lively. With melodious or energetic songs, one after another, some sang classic Cantonese songs, some chose love duets, and others danced along with the melody. The songs stirred people’s souls, awakening the passion that had been submerged by busy work and life. The atmosphere at the scene was warm and cohesive, immersing people in it and experiencing the artistic mindset. Passersby who heard the songs were also drawn in.

Regardless of age or gender, regardless of vocal ability, everyone invested genuine emotions, arousing inner resonance. The audience sincerely applauded the performers.

On this day of reunion, seemingly ordinary gatherings appeared to possess unique souls. The songs conveyed experiences and stories of time, allowing everyone to transition from acquaintance to mutual understanding and appreciation. As the event drew to a close, everyone was reluctant to part ways. They sang “Tomorrow Will Be Better” together, pushing this gathering to a climax.

The singing activity, beneficial to health and character, was deeply loved by everyone. They look forward to the next gathering where they can meet more friends who share a passion for music and love for life.

On February 9, 2024, the “2024 New Year’s Annual Conference,” jointly organized by the HHP Association and the Daren Life Association, concluded successfully! Friends from all corners of the world gathered together, deepening their understanding and friendship. This year’s annual conference specially invited Mr. Liu Zheng, the author of “Daren,” to join all the family and friends who are interested in Daren, bidding farewell to the old and welcoming the new, celebrating the arrival of the Jia Chen Year of the Green Dragon.

The self-directed and self-performed variety show was diverse and exciting, with highlights one after another. Performances such as dance, songs, calligraphy exhibitions, sketches, recitations, etc., were full of novelty and has a strong flavor of life.

The entire annual conference was filled with joy and celebration. Everyone enjoyed a feast for both material and spiritual needs, congratulating each other on the New Year, feeling close like family.

Daren culture, rooted in life, integrates life, art, and spiritual enhancement. With the concept of prioritizing people, it continuously improves people’s quality of life. In today’s commercialized and materialistic environment, it melts the cold material gaps between people, allowing people to feel more and more genuine emotions and human warmth, reflecting its unique charm.

2024 is destined to be an extraordinary year. At the beginning of the Jia Chen Year of the Green Dragon, I wish all family and friends a happy New Year! Wishing everyone vigorous spirits, vigorous steps, harmony, and prosperity, and soaring like dragons!

On February 3, 2024, the ASB Showgrounds in Auckland were filled with lively and festive Chinese elements as the “2024 Year of the Dragon Chinese New Year Festival and Market Day” took place here. Ever since the Daren Life Association started participating in the event, its booth has attracted numerous visitors every year. This year, the atmosphere at the venue remained both lively and warm.

Some friends approached the booth for the first time, eager to learn about the Daren Life Association. Volunteers warmly introduced the club’s concept of mutual assistance and various mutual aid projects. Meanwhile, there were also some old friends who regularly attended activities, making a special trip to the booth to greet the New Year and inquire about the new activities the club was launching. The number of visitors was significant, sometimes resulting in long queues, but overall, everything was orderly and everyone was in high spirits. Many people, upon hearing about our pursuit of a “people-first” happy life and witnessing vivid examples of our humanistic mutual aid, gave us their thumbs up. People showed great interest in participating in the mutual aid projects we were organizing, eagerly leaving their contact information or scanning QR codes to join the group.

The calligraphy of the fortune and couplets written on-site by volunteers attracted a lot of attention, with a particularly high popularity. In addition to Chinese friends, many Westerners also lingered in front of the booth, eagerly waiting to receive these blessings for the New Year.

One friend provided free blood pressure measurements at the booth. After receiving health advice, they even left a message of gratitude in our mutual aid WeChat group. It is these small acts of human warmth that bring people closer together.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers of Daren who dedicated their efforts to this event, and to all our friends who have shown support and interest. In the new year, let us join hands and continue to create a better future with Daren’s mutual assistance!

Moderate exercise strengthens the body, releases energy; gathering with friends can deepen friendships and relax the mind. Coming together with both new and old friends, engaging in physical activities, exercising amidst laughter, and enjoying a pleasant mood are truly desirable.

On the afternoon of January 14th, Daren Life Association organized an outdoor health activity at One Tree Hill Cornwall Park. Despite the scorching summer sun, people’s enthusiasm for living life fully remained undiminished. At the beginning, some worried that the hot weather might make the activities unbearable. However, to everyone’s delight, the weather turned out to be perfect. A cool breeze blew, and the sky became overcast, making everyone feel very comfortable and relaxed.

Activities such as tug-of-war, handkerchief tossing, jump rope, and bean bag toss not only attracted children to participate actively but also reminded adults of the joys of childhood, prompting them to join in enthusiastically. Regardless of age or gender, everyone felt natural and happy during the activities.

During breaks in the activities, the children gathered together and spontaneously started playing the game of “wooden man.” Adults chatted with each other, sharing bits and pieces of their lives. Some friends discussed their experiences of surviving and living in New Zealand, finding it very beneficial. Others explored the essence of life from both material and spiritual perspectives, feeling enlightened.

Daren Life Association focuses on caring for people and jointly creating a happy and healthy lifestyle with everyone. We welcome both old and new friends to join us in strengthening the body, pleasing the mind, getting closer to nature, and getting closer to each other. A heartfelt thank you to every friend who participated in this event. While the event time may be limited, the communication of souls is boundless. Looking forward to gathering again at the next event.
