In this rapidly changing era, people pass each other by without truly connecting. The “Daren Culture” event is precisely such a space—where people from different cultural backgrounds can come together and discover common ground through genuine interaction.
Different languages, customs, and modes of expression intertwine and flow here; East and West, tradition and modernity, naturally collide through repeated exchanges, giving rise to new understanding and warmth.
Here, every conversation and interaction is a re-establishment of connection between people.
On Saturday, 18 April, we invite you to embark on this unique journey. We welcome you to bring your family and friends to join us and share an unforgettable weekend together.
Daren Life Society is an officially registered charity in New Zealand that advocates and practices the “Daren Culture” of “people first.” We are dedicated to spreading the warmth of humanity and ensuring that people receive mutual support throughout their lives.
Over the years, we have organized a variety of community mutual help activities in various neighborhoods, all of which have been widely welcomed. In response to requests from various sectors and to further enrich our lives, the Daren Life Society has already held three “Daren Culture” events in Auckland, allowing more people to participate in and experience the “Daren Culture” that celebrates the beauty of humanity. This year’s event will feature cultural exchanges, various exhibition stalls, artistic performances, parent-child activities, mutual help services, and more, offering all participants a unique multicultural experience.
We are now seeking volunteers, stallholders, and performance groups for the 2026 “Daren Culture” event. Spots are limited, so please apply as soon as possible!

On February 21, 2026, the Albany Community Centre on Auckland’s North Shore was filled with the festive atmosphere of the Chinese New Year. Daren Life Society and Albany Community Hub once again joined forces to create a New Year’s journey that combined culture, food, and entertainment , bringing a rich and diverse experience to community residents.
At the event, lion dances were lively and energetic, and the stage performances were spectacular. In addition to traditional ethnic dances and martial arts performances, there were also energetic taekwondo demonstrations, dynamic K-pop dances, and unique Sri Lankan dances, all of which won rounds of applause from the audience. Craftsmen made dragon beard candy on site, attracting children to gather around and taste it, their faces beaming with sweet smiles.
During the event, the Daren Life Society set up a calligraphy and cultural Stall. Volunteers demonstrated their skills on-site, writing Spring Festival couplets and the character “福” (Fu, meaning good fortune), sending blessings to passing residents. The booth was bustling with people, all eager to receive this New Year’s gift filled with the fragrance of ink. Many individuals enthusiastically signed up to join the volunteer team, jointly practicing the concept of “mutual help.”
In addition, there were various food stalls and cultural displays on site, allowing people to enjoy delicious food while experiencing the charm of traditional culture. Volunteers moved among the crowds, guiding people and taking photos, warming every corner with their enthusiastic service.
The success of this event wouldn’t have been possible without the collaborative efforts of various community groups and volunteers, showcasing the power of human warmth. Everyone worked together to create a joyous and festive Spring Festival gathering. The event not only enriched daily life in the community but also allowed culture to flourish. We look forward to meeting again next year and creating even more wonderful moments!
Spring Festival of the Year of the Horse, galloping forward. Daren Life Society extends warm wishes for your family’s health and happiness, blessed with warmth throughout the seasons! May the Year of the Horse bring you great fortune and success in all endeavors!
On February 14, 2026, Auckland’s Spring Festival Flower Market grandly opened amidst festive celebrations. From afar, the red tents at the Daren Life Society stall resembled warm and vibrant red lanterns. This year’s stall featured calligraphy, interactive conversations, face painting, and candy floss, infusing the event with a vibrant, human touch.
The calligraphy station drew continuous crowds seeking Spring Festival couplets, making it the day’s most popular attraction. Many visitors not only watched quietly but eagerly tried their hand at brushwork themselves. One visitor, formerly a member of a domestic calligraphy association, spontaneously stepped forward to showcase his own skills after seeing the volunteers’ work. He enthusiastically praised the Daren Life Society for providing a platform to display his talents.
Adjacent to this, the face painting stall proved the most popular spot among children. Little heads gathered around volunteers, flipping through books filled with various designs, each silently choosing their favorite image. Whether dreaming of becoming a flower fairy or Spider-Man, the volunteers skillfully brought their visions to life.
The Mutual Help Registration stall addressed genuine needs across all age groups, concentrating efforts to help people resolve issues promptly. Upon learning that the Daren Life Society offered free mutual help benefiting the Auckland community, some Western friends expressed admiration and signed up to participate. The candy floss stall drew curious gazes as volunteers deftly twisted ordinary sugar strands into umbrella shapes, adding a touch of whimsy.
In the conversation area, subtle moments of connection and warmth blossomed between people. Some quietly flipped through Daren books, while others recognized familiar volunteer faces: “You were here last year too!” “Long time no see!” Long time no see!” Conversations flowed naturally as people exchanged New Year greetings, warmth radiating through every exchange.
By afternoon, Channel 33 New Zealand’s cameras arrived at the stall. Media representatives enthusiastically learned about Daren Life Society’s activities and interacted warmly with volunteers. They later joined the raffle draw, capturing joyful moments of New Year warmth amidst laughter.
With the successful conclusion of the 2026 Spring Flower Market Celebration Day, Daren Life Society will embark on a new journey with renewed vigor in the Year of the Horse, writing a fresh chapter. Stay tuned for more exciting events to come!
