On 1st February 2025, Albany Community Hub in North Shore, Auckland was transformed into a sea of joy. A Lunar New Year festival attracted people from all over Auckland to feel the joyful atmosphere, with dragon and lion dances, various kinds of stalls, food and beverages, stage performances, and free game activities, the rich content made people dazzled and forgetful.
This is the first time that Daren Life Society Inc. cooperated with Albany Community Hub of Auckland North Shore, and participated in the discussion and planning of the event with many other community groups and organizations. People join together, express different opinions and contribute to the enrichment of every detail in the preparation of the event. This is the power of mutual help, and also what Daren Life Society Inc. has been advocating and practicing.
Daren Life Society Inc. provided lanterns, couplets, window decorations and other decorations for this event to add to the festive atmosphere. The couplets written by the calligrapher volunteers conveyed the joyful and beautiful blessings of “Daren’s Mutual Life is Beautiful, Humanity is the Most Important, Heaven and Earth are New”. A female Daren volunteer signed up to be the stage host, and her pronunciation, enthusiasm and infectious hosting style were unanimously praised; in addition, Daren volunteers also provided a number of performances for the stage: folk dance performances, tai chi performances, wushu performances, and solo songs, which were wonderful one after another, and the scene was constantly applauded; three photography volunteers shuttled through the crowd to capture the beautiful moments.
At the stall of Daren Life Society Inc., there were enthusiastic visitors who came to know more about Daren, signed up for volunteers and participated in Daren mutual help. The volunteers at the stall presented hand-written spring scrolls, and everyone’s faces were full of happiness.
Daren Life Society Inc.’s Daren volunteers participated in this event, working together with the staff of the organizer, Albany Community Hub of North Shore, and various other enthusiastic organizations. It was the warmth of humanity that allowed everyone to know each other and help each other, making this event a success. The first time it was held was already such a great event, next year’s event will definitely be even more exciting and worth looking forward to!
