As the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, Auckland’s Dominion Road is filled with the vibrant atmosphere of the “Moon Festival.” On Sunday afternoon, September 28th, the Daren Life Society dance troupe debuted their performance of the soulful and majestic Mongolian dance “Unforgettable,” leaving an unforgettable impression on the audience . The ten dancers , full of energy and swaying with graceful movements, expressed their love for traditional culture and their celebration of a better life with their graceful movements, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience .
Day and night in the practice room
“1, 2, 3, flip your skirt … pay attention to your expression … yes! Listen to this drumbeat … ” the teacher’s voice echoed through the practice room . On the eve of the event, the Daren Life Society dance troupe engaged in intensive rehearsals. The dancers performing on stage were all from the Daren Dancing Activities, ranging from beginners to seasoned veterans. Throughout the event, everyone encouraged each other to grow through their shared passion, cherishing each member’s experience and gains from dance .
From eye contact to gestures, from formations to emotional expression, everyone meticulously polished every detail, repeatedly refining it and striving for perfection. Not only did they actively work together and encourage each other during rehearsals, but they also practiced and meticulously refined their movements at home, silently overcoming their own difficulties. The perseverance and dedication of each dancer contributed to the creation of the dazzling moments on stage.
Red and blue shine together, dancing in the Mid-Autumn Festival
On the day of the event, the team members wore distinctive Mongolian attire, the red and blue hues complementing each other on stage. Their movements were sometimes graceful and unrestrained, like a soaring eagle, sometimes light and graceful, like a gentle spring breeze, fully showcasing the charm of the Mongolian people. The ten dancers worked in perfect harmony, their formations shifting smoothly and naturally, their emotions expressed with sincerity and richness.
